However, fans will have to exercise patience before seeing the veteran forward back on the pitch, as the newly established club will not enter the professional ranks until 2027.
The former Manchester United star becomes the very first professional signing in the history of Atletico Dallas, a franchise preparing to compete in the United States second division under the United Soccer League.
Based on club details, Chicharito will play under the tactical direction of former Ligue 1 midfielder Peter Luccin, who currently manages the squad.
Explaining his surprising decision on social media, the legendary goalscorer stated, "I want to help create a winning culture, inspire young players across north Texas and give our supporters a team in which they can believe right from the start."
He further added regarding his long-term ambitions, "I am not coming here simply to finish my career. I am come to help build the future of football in Dallas."
