Following a grueling World Cup campaign featuring high-stakes clashes against European heavyweights, Paraguay central defender José Canale launched a verbal attack on both Germany and France.

During a post-match interview with ESPN, the Albirroja defender claimed that South American football is far more demanding than European competition.

"The Argentine and South American football is much more complex, much more difficult than European football," Canale stated.

"The Germans did not like physical contact, and neither did the French. It was enough to push them a little to get them out of their match," he added.

Canale played the full 120 minutes in the battle against Germany and came on in the 58th minute during the narrow defeat against France in the last 16.

Upon returning to Argentina, where he plays club football for Lanús, Canale received praise and congratulations from his club for his impressive World Cup performances.
