Under transfer regulations, multiple deals between two clubs within a 45-day window are defined as swap deals, triggering strict UEFA scrutiny to ensure transfer fees are not artificially inflated.
Based on findings by The Athletic, if regulators deem the Garnacho transaction a swap deal, Villa would be forced to reduce their recorded profit from the Rogers sale. This financial penalty could heavily restrict Unai Emery's ability to conduct further business with the West London club this summer.
The potential restriction directly impacts Villa's ambition to sign an unwanted Chelsea trio consisting of Benoit Badiashile, Axel Disasi, and Nicolas Jackson. Manager Unai Emery remains keen on a reunion with Jackson, whom he previously coached at Spanish side Villarreal.
Jackson spent last season on loan at Bayern Munich, scoring 11 goals in 34 appearances. Meanwhile, defenders Disasi and Badiashile have both fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, with Disasi having previously spent time on loan at Villa Park.
