At just four years old, he made history as the youngest player to ever feature for the team. PAOK soon noticed his immense potential and brought him into their youth academy.
His development took a detour when a severe financial crisis forced his family to relocate to Germany. After playing in lower German tiers, the family returned to Greece in 2018. PAOK welcomed him back, and Tzolis immediately showcased his lethal scoring instinct by netting a hat-trick in his first youth match back.
Following an impressive stint in the Greek top flight, Norwich City broke their transfer record to sign the teenager for eleven million euros. However, the Premier League proved to be a harsh learning curve. Based on his lack of playing time, Tzolis admitted that English football can be remarkably ruthless.
A subsequent loan move to FC Twente aimed to revive his career, but persistent knee injuries hindered his progress. Ron Jans noted that the player was visibly pining away under the pressure. Consequently, the club opted to terminate the agreement early to protect the young athlete's well-being.
A second loan spell at Fortuna Düsseldorf proved far more fruitful, as he finished as the joint top scorer in the German second division. Club Brugge soon secured his services permanently. During the subsequent calendar year, Tzolis delivered twenty-five goals and twenty-three assists, placing him among Europe's elite performers.
According to former coach Nicky Hayen, the winger's relentless mentality and stellar statistics make him an invaluable asset. Now valued at well over thirty million euros, the former "Golden Boy" has firmly established himself on the European stage after weathering the darkest storms of his early career.
